First you might like to know what it is that we do! Our hope is to be a home with an open door that is centred in prayer and fellowship for faithful Christians in Fife and all who may cross our threshold. We meet regularly to pray the Daily Office and to share fellowship, be it through regular gatherings, a slap up meal or even just a quick chat with a cup of tea.

Daily Prayer

Daily Prayer, often called The Daily Office, is a practice derived from the earliest centuries of Christianity with roots in monastic observances throughout the day and the pre-Christian Jewish practice of reciting prayer in the morning and evening. There is also a connection to the remembrance of the daily sacrifices in the Temple, most notably when daily prayer is joined with celebration of the Eucharistic sacrifice (Communion).

In Anglicanism, our heritage from the Reformation has simplified many different types of daily prayer into two principle offices called Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer. These are codified in the Book of Common Prayer (BCP), typically with the 1662 edition as the globally recognised standard for many Anglicans, as the basis for daily prayer. At Fife Anglican Fellowship we use a variety of different versions of these prayers, including the BCP 1662, Scottish Prayer Book and even our own modern language version in the REC.

Our fellowship is open to one and all, be you a seeker or a committed Christian of any stripe. Our core membership has a variety of interests but we share a love for Our Lord Jesus Christ. If you’re just curious or already keen to come to one of our gatherings, please contact us via the link provided. We’d love to have you join us for prayer and fellowship some time!
